U.S. BUSINESS CYCLE INDICATORS (FIBERUS)  U.S. monthly leading and coincident indexes together with their components from the Foundation of International Business and Economic Research (FIBER).  These indexes cover growth, inflation, employment, industrial production, service sector activity, financial services and trade.  FIBER’s industrial materials price index, a core price index plus their component indexes are also included.  History for most series extends back to the 1950’s.  These cyclical indicators are based on the unique methodology developed in a long series of studies that first originated at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) to identify turning and inflection points in the economy.

ABX INDEXES (MARKIT)  Closing prices for 20 ABX.HE indexes (U.S. subprime home equity asset-backed securities) from Markit.  Used to price protection in the event of credit defaults, i.e., to price credit default swaps, the indexes are based on unweighted averages of similarly rated tranches from 20 ABS deals covering AAA, AA, A, BBB and BBB- credit grades.

AUTO STATISTICS (WARDS)  Timely monthly North America vehicle sales, inventory, production and production forecasts for 11 vehicle types from Ward’s Automotive Group.  Vehicle sales are available by country of origin by vehicle type.  Inventory data are available for the U.S. by county of origin and vehicle type.  Vehicle types include small cars, luxury cars, cross utility vehicles, sport utility vehicles, pickup trucks, medium duty trucks and heavy duty trucks.  Most data are available back to 1985.  Monthly production forecasts extend through 2009, while annual forecasts extend through 2014.

MBA MORTGAGE ORIGINATIONS SURVEYS (MBAMOS)  Covers quarterly total and subprime originations activity beginning in 2005 from 2 Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) surveys, the Mortgage Originations Survey and the Subprime Originations Survey.  Detailed information on first-lien and second-lien originations for single-family properties is available by housing type, occupancy status, loan type, delivery channel, and amortization type.  Data are reported in average loan amount, dollar share and percentage share.
